I am a skilled and experienced teacher and supervisor of students at all levels. I currently coordinate the MA Public Archaeology at UCL Institute of Archaeology, together with my colleague Tim Schadla-Hall. In addition to this degree course and its core module, I teach graduate-level modules in the archaeology of modern conflict and the archaeology of the modern world.

My innovation and leadership in university teaching was recognised in 2018 with a Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

I have supervised two PhDs to completion, and currently supervise six PhD students across a range of subjects. I am involved in the development and dissemination of research skills training for PhD students in cultural heritage studies.

My courses consistently receive high scores in student evaluations. I have been awarded multiple UCL Student Choice Awards for Outstanding Research Supervision (2015), Outstanding Support of Students (2016), and Excellent Personal Tutoring (2018). This is an exceptional level of recognition, based on student nominations.
